Helping Your Youth Become Self-Reliant the College Experience
Youth Life Skills and Independence Training for Parents, Guardians, and Families in New Jersey and Nationwide.
*This training is appropriate for community and service-based organizations*.
Every parent and guardian wants to raise a young person who can navigate life with confidence, capability, and real independence. Yet many young people today reach adulthood without the self-reliance skills they genuinely need to thrive on their own terms. Pringle's Training Services developed this family-focused training to equip parents, guardians, and caregivers in Newark, NJ, and nationwide with essential tools and a proven framework for fostering youth skills.
Self-reliance is not something that simply happens with time. It is a learnable, teachable, and buildable life skill set that requires deliberate guidance, consistent practice, and a clear developmental roadmap. Dr. Theresa Pringle H.C brings that roadmap directly to your family through this training. The guiding principle applies fully here: Make It Make Sense. CHANGE THE MINDSET. CHANGE THE OUTCOME. When families change their mindset about how independence is built, the outcome for their youth changes completely and permanently.
What This Training Is About
"Helping Your Youth Become Self-Reliant" is built around a powerful, practical three-stage developmental framework that moves youth from full dependency to genuine, lasting self-reliance. The first stage is dependency, where youth rely entirely on trusted adults to meet their needs and guide every decision they face. The second stage is interdependency, in which youth begin to share responsibility and develop collaborative independence alongside the caring adults in their lives. The third and final stage is self-reliance, in which youth are fully prepared to manage their own lives with competence, confidence, and the internal tools they need to overcome adversity. Participants will learn how to identify exactly where their youth currently stands in this journey and what specific, practical steps to take to guide them meaningfully and consistently forward.
